New Appointments at Swatch Group

Swatch Group has announced changes to the Executive Group Management Board and the Extended Group Management Board for the brands Longines, Rado, Union, Tissot, Certina and Hamilton. All appointments are internal, involving people who have worked at Swatch Group for many years. In particular, after 51 years, Walter von Känel will enjoy his well-deserved retirement and has been appointed Honorary President of Longines, in addition to retaining his position as President of the Longines Foundation. The Swatch Group, thanking him sincerely for his commitment to lead Longines for more than half a century, has appointed Matthias Breschan, currently Head of Rado and member of the Extended Group Management Board, as CEO of Longines in his place. Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of Omega and also a member of the Extended Group Management Board, was added to the Executive Group Management Board. Sylvain Dolla, who is currently in charge of Hamilton, becomes CEO of Tissot and also joins the Extended Group Management Board. François Thiébaud is appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tissot. At Hamilton, Vivian Stauffer, Head of Sales, becomes the new CEO. Adrian Bosshard, currently CEO of Certina and Union, goes to head Rado. At Certina he is succeeded by Marc Aellen. Finally, Franz Linder, in addition to his role as CEO of Mido, also takes over the management of Union. The new appointments will take effect on 1 July 2020.
