New spaces for Erwin Sattler clocks

After the inauguration of the new Erwin Sattler factory building in 2008, the high demand for the company's products necessitated an extension of the production space. The extension work began in August 2011 and after only four months, in December of that year, the new premises were available for use. The increase in floor space was made possible by the construction of a second floor above the existing structure. The additional area is 350 square metres, two-thirds of which is now used for the storage of the valuable clock cases, which were previously stored externally, and for the parts warehouse, which was located on the first floor of the building prior to the extension. The construction of the new area made it possible to create six new workplaces for Erwin Sattler's specialised watchmakers. Two new watchmakers have already been hired, two current apprentices will also be taken on at the end of their apprenticeships, and two new apprentices will start their training, thus making the stations fully operational from September 2012. The remaining area is dedicated to the watch winding department, in which the company has specialised in recent years. It is here that the precious Erwin Sattler rotors are designed, assembled and tested. At present, the Erwin Sattler manufactory employs 31 people, but already by next September, a new worker will be employed with the qualification of polisher.
