New design for the Seiko Astron GPS Solar

Seiko celebrates its success and partnership with Novak Djokovic with a new Astron GPS Solar watch produced in a limited edition of 1,500 pieces. The design recalls the red and white colours shared by the flags of Serbia and Japan, together with deep blue, which is also the central colour of the Serbian flag and signifies 'victory' in Japanese culture. The time zones of Serbia and Japan are highlighted in red at the two UTC markers at positions +1 and +9 respectively, the flange displaying the minutes and local time is white, and the blue ceramic bezel is surrounded by a thin red line. The use of colour as a symbol can still be seen in the golden hue of the dual time counter and the small AM/PM counter. The GPS Solar 5X53 Dual-Time calibre that equips the watch connects up to twice a day to the GPS network to maintain its accuracy anywhere in the world. It automatically adjusts to daylight saving time and, when the wearer changes time zone, a simple push of a button is all it takes to quickly move the hands to the correct local time, thanks to the system that adjusts the hour, minute and second hands independently. In addition, the user is able to change the main time display from the time of the place he or she left to the local time and vice versa in an instant. Novak Djokovic's new Seiko Astron GPS Solar is offered with a special case containing a second strap, made of white silicone. The watch also comes with a card bearing a message from Djokovic and will be available from February 2020 at Seiko Boutiques and selected retailers worldwide.
