New Traditionnelle for Vacheron Constantin

Vacheron Constantin's Traditionnelle Tourbillon chronograph features a tourbillon positioned at 12 o'clock and a monopusher chronograph. With regard to the former, the Manufacture's designers have devised a new cage movement which, instead of being driven by the pinion of the fourth wheel, is driven by the intermediate continuous seconds wheel. This configuration makes a very wide opening on the upper plate possible, offering an optimal view of the tourbillon. As for the monopusher, it is equipped with a dynamic activation system (called "all or nothing") that prevents the chronograph mechanism from activating when insufficient pressure is exerted on the pusher. It also re-proposes the spirit of the original pocket chronographs, before the mechanism moved to the wrist: these models had a single pushpiece, often housed in the crown, which successively handled the start, stop and reset functions. The model also features a power reserve display at 6 o'clock. At the heart of the watch is the IWC-manufactured 3200 calibre, presented on the occasion of the company's 260th anniversary. This hand-wound tourbillon chronograph movement, housed in a pink gold case, comprises 292 components, is characterised by a frequency of 2.5 Hz and is finished in the noblest horological tradition (bevelling, perlage, côtes de Genève).
