Omega: charity auction
in support of Orbis

The House of Biel supports the non-governmental organisation working against blindness and low vision by auctioning off a set of 11 MoonSwatch Moonshine Gold suitcases.

From 12 to 24 February Omega will auction at Sotheby's a set of 11 MoonSwatch Moonshine Gold cases, each containing 11 Omega x Swatch "Mission to Moonshine Gold" watches. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors to acquire these rare models, which are being auctioned together in one set for the first time, as well as the special suitcases, which are also available for purchase for the very first time.

The proceeds will be donated to Orbis International, a non-governmental organisation working against blindness and a long-standing partner of Omega. Before the auction ends on 24 February, the 11 "Mission to Moonshine Gold" cases will be on display until 11 February at 11 Omega boutiques around the world (Zurich, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, London, Milan, Paris and Sydney).

Orbis' work is particularly valuable for children, as it enables many of them to be given the gift of sight. In addition to the numerous programmes and operations carried out aboard the Flying Eye Hospital, Orbis is committed to training eye health personnel in the world's neediest regions. Omega has been a partner of the organisation since 2011 and the auction underlines the company's renewed commitment to supporting this important cause.

The Omega x collection Swatch first hit the headlines in March two years ago. Its launch was met with great enthusiasm and strong public demand. Made of bioceramic, the 11 models feature shades inspired by the colours of space and the planets, and are a tribute to the celebrated design of the Omega Speedmaster. During 2023, the models in the collection were revisited in "Mission to Moonshine Gold" versions. The 11 watches feature a seconds hand coated in 18-carat Moonshine gold, an alloy patented by Omega that gives yellow gold a softer hue and high resistance to fading.

In addition, the Moonshine gold hand of each watch boasts a special distinctive detail, such as the strawberry-themed motif of the Strawberry Moon model. Also very special are the cases, containing a gold monocle with the Omega x Swatch logo and a coin engraved with the 3-letter aviation code for the city shown (e.g. 'HKG' for Hong Kong). This same code will also be engraved on the side of all the watches in the cases, each associated with a specific city. The auction will take place at Sotheby's and will be accessible online from around the world at Sothebys.com, where bids can be placed from 12 February until 24 February.
