Parmigiani Fleurier - Tonda 1950 Moonbow

A tourbillon floating on an aventurine dial, surrounded by a rainbow studded with precious stones: these are some of the elements that make up the Tonda 1950 Moonbow by Parmigiani Fleurier, an ultra-flat, feminine, elegant and sophisticated watch with a pink gold case. "Whoever learns to look acquires art": qhese words, taught to Michel Parmigiani by his father, sum up the philosophy of the Manufacture Parmigiani Fleurier. The Tonda 1950 takes its inspiration from two phenomena visible only to a careful observer: a lunar rainbow or moonbow on the moon and a spiral galaxy on the dial. The Tonda 1950 series is dedicated to Michel Parmigiani, the founder of the Maison: in honour of his date of birth - 2 December 1950, at 7:08 a.m. - the tourbillon of the ultra-thin PF51A calibre is positioned at 7 o'clock on the dial. The development and study of such a slim movement, which includes the Tourbillon, is a challenge for every watchmaker. The movement is also equipped with a decorated platinum micro-rotor. The Tonda 1950 Moonbow is embellished by a bezel with a coloured series of precious stones representing a moonbow, a rather rare nocturnal meteorological phenomenon. È a'accurate selection of stones, each in the shade perfect for offering a nuanced rainbow, with subtle shifts between colours. Blue, pink orange and yellow sapphires, rubies, tzavorites and amethysts make up the 40 baguette-cut precious stones (equivalent to 2.59 carats) set on the bezel. The Tonda 1950 Moonbow comes with a Hermès strap in red or blue leather, or a gold bracelet.
