Patek Philippe - BaselWorld 2014: Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1

One of Patek Philippe's most important novelties has just been unveiled at BaselWorld: it is the Nautilus Chronograph Travel Time 5990/1, which is also the cover of the April issue of L'Orologio (the 226). As of this year, the watch replaces the Nautilus 5980 Chronograph in a steel version with a metal bracelet, launched in 2006 for the 30th anniversary of this historic model. It features an analogue date display at 12 o'clock and a 60-minute chronograph totaliser at 6 o'clock. It is equipped with the new CH 28-520 S C FUS movement, the company's first calibre to combine the chronograph function and the reading of a second time zone; it also presents the Patek Philippe technical equipment of the new generation, including the Spiromax balance spring made from Silinvar, a silicon-based material that is completely non-magnetic and stainless steel, guaranteeing hardness, lightness, almost total absence of friction and resistance to corrosion. Price: 44,240 euros.
