New Calatrava Pilot Travel Time

The new Calatrava Pilot Travel Time with Ref. 7234G is the medium version of the Ref. 5524G presented in 2015, having a diameter of 37.5 mm, ideal for dressing both male and female wrists. The round Calatrava case in white gold features an essential design, with a flat bezel with a slightly bevelled profile and a carrure that continues into the slender lugs. The legibility of the painted blue dial, inspired by aeronautics, benefits from the white gold applied numerals, hollowed and filled with a white luminescent coating, and the blued white gold gladius hands, also visible in the dark. The automatic winding Calibre 324 S C FUS (294 components) boasts a Travel Time second time zone display system that is extremely user-friendly. By simply pressing one of the two pushers on the left side of the case, the local time hand moves forward (bottom push-piece) or backward (top push-piece) in one-hour increments (full hand). During these operations, the hand is disengaged from the movement, which allows the precise display of minutes and seconds to be maintained. Meanwhile, the openwork hand maintains the home time. Both time zones have day/night indicators (LOCAL window for local time at 9 o'clock, HOME window for home time at 3 o'clock) to simplify adjustments. When the user is not travelling, the two hour hands, perfectly overlapping, become one. The two time zone buttons are equipped with a patented security system thanks to which the local time cannot be changed accidentally. To activate them, they must first be unlocked by turning them a quarter turn, an operation made easier by the presence of raised grooves on the surface. After activating them, the buttons must be locked again by turning them a quarter turn in the opposite direction. The date hand at 6 o'clock indicates the figures in threes, so as not to visually overload the scale and to make it easier to read. The new Ref. 7234G is offered with a shiny navy blue calfskin strap with a white gold buckle with a bridge inspired by the straps that enabled aviators to fasten their emergency kit (parachute and survival equipment) onto themselves. It is also delivered with a second strap in vintage brown calfskin with contrasting stitching, reminiscent of the leather belts of classic pilot suits.
