Roger Dubuis Excalibur Blacklight

Roger Dubuis presents a new version of the Excalibur, called Blacklight, featuring a 42 mm titanium case with black DLC treatment. This unprecedented model employs a particularly artistic version of the iconic RD820SQ calibre, distinguished by a decoration made using technology never before applied in Haute Horlogerie. The calibre takes on a completely new dimension by offering a mix of materials that have resulted in a unique design. In fact, the Maison's iconic movement, the "Astral Skeleton", is based on an innovative technology using synthetic sapphire crystal microstructures identical to those used to make the rubies used in watch movements. The aesthetic and creative dimension - which Roger Dubuis likes to call "expressive singularity" - by which the calibre is imbued creates the impression of a true 3D mechanical sculpture. This sensation is reinforced by the property of this material to sparkle when exposed to UV rays, revealing the pattern that seems to float in the case at night. In addition, the craftsmen at the Roger Dubuis workshops have set a diamond in the centre of the Astral Skeleton so that it stands out in all its splendour. This effect further accentuates its lines and visual depth generating multiple levels and angles. The Excalibur Blacklight with is produced in a limited edition of 88 pieces and is certified by the Poinçon de Genève. Once again, Roger Dubuis stands out from the crowd thanks to the sparkle of this new model that embodies its vocation as a serial innovator.
