Seiko pays homage to Arita porcelain

Seiko's Presage collection brings Japanese cultural tradition to life with a series of two automatic watches with dials made of porcelain from Arita, named after a small town that has been the cradle of Japanese porcelain for over 400 years: white with a trace of blue, the colour typical of the earliest porcelain from Arita. The type of porcelain used, which was created only three years ago, is four times harder than the material usually used and has both the strength and flexibility needed to embellish the dial of the Presage timepieces. The two watches in the series are powered by the high-performance calibres of the 6R series: the first houses the 6R27 calibre, with a power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock and a date display at 6 o'clock; the second is equipped with a new 6R35 calibre, which guarantees a power reserve of an impressive 70 hours. The crystal used is a double-curved sapphire, while the transparent back reveals the refined finishes of the 6R movements. Both versions are water-resistant to 10 bar. The Presage series with porcelain dial from Arita will be available from September 2019 at Seiko boutiques and selected Seiko retailers worldwide.
