Shades of blue for F.P. Journe

F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu
F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu

The Chronometre Bleu, made for the first time in tantalum, expands the precision chronometers made by F.P. Journe. A new case, 39 millimetres in diameter, is characterised by an anthracite grey colour that fades into a beautiful shade of blue. Also blue is the dial with cream-coloured Arabic numerals and small seconds at 7 o'clock enhanced by fine guilloché work. At its heart is the manual calibre 1304, crafted in 18-carat rose gold (like all the brand's movements), visible through the case back: the balance and escapement are mysteriously separated from the movement, and move without any apparent driving force. F.P.Journe has in fact hidden the wheel train under the dial, leaving only the centre wheel visible, thus isolating the balance. From February, this model has been available at GMT boutiques in Milan and Porto Cervo.
