Tissot - PRX 40 205

True to the slogan 'Innovators by Tradition', Tissot has always been able to interpret the designs of its era. In particular, towards the end of the 1970s, the company offered a series of timepieces with a bracelet integrated into the case and equipped with the very latest (for the time) quartz movements. In 1978, Tissot therefore presented a quartz model with a thin case and a steel bracelet. The large transverse link, typical of the designs of the time, appeared perfectly integrated in the tonneau case. A few years later, the Swiss company trademarked the name PRX, where "PR" stood for "precise" and "robust", while "X" indicated, in Roman numerals, the ten atmospheres guaranteed for the watch. Today, Tissot presents the PRX 40 205, a timepiece based on the vintage model. The case of the Tissot PRX 40 205 has a diameter of 40 mm, sports a slightly tonneau line and houses a smooth, slim, round bezel. The case middle features vertical brushed finishes, softened by polished facets. For the time being, the watch is offered in a version with a high-precision Swiss Made quartz movement and comes either with a black or blue soleil dial, combined with nickel-plated hour markers and hands, or with a vertical satin-finished silver grey dial, accompanied by rose gold-coloured hour markers and hands. At a later date, Tissot will offer a version of the PRX with an automatic movement, with a blue, black or silver-plated dial, marked with an embossed chocolate square pattern and the words 'Automatic'. Inside is the Powermatic calibre, a Swiss Made automatic movement beating at 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offering an 80-hour power reserve. The glass protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal. Price: 355 euros.
