Victorinox Swiss Army - Chrono Classic 1/100

Modern, innovative, ingenious and user-friendly: this is the new version of the Chrono Classic from Victorinox Swiss Army. Starting this autumn, the brand is dedicating a microsite to this exclusive model. Here you will be able to discover all its functions in "three stages", thanks to the use of unique technology. Those who discovered Chrono Classic at Baselworld in spring were won over. Others are sure to be fascinated after visiting the dedicated microsite: http://chronoclassic.victorinox.com. The latter reflects the clock perfectly: modern and at the same time innovative, ingenious, easy to use, made with the new parallel axis effect web design technique. This allows images arranged on different levels to be moved at high speed, creating a 3D-like perspective effect. Playful and also educational, because its simplicity and intuitive side make it easy to discover all the functions of the watch. Thanks to this microsite, there will be no secrets for Chrono Classic 1/100. Here you will also be able to see a video presentation of this model as well as of the entire collection, which this year dares with two monochrome colours on both the dial and the bezel: dark grey (PVD Black Ice treatment) combined with a black leather strap (organically tanned) or metal strap, or champagne colour (PVD gold treatment) with a brown leather strap or bracelet. How does it work? Let us recall its main features: Chrono Classic is first and foremost a watch for telling the time, but also a chronograph accurate to one hundredth of a second. Switching from one function to the other is done by a double push on the crown. In one stroke, the three central hands align at 12 o'clock, while the date window at 6 o'clock becomes a counter at the zero-zero position. To activate the chronograph, there is nothing simpler than pressing the pusher at 2 o'clock. The central red hand starts counting seconds, while the other two count minutes and hours. To interrupt the chronograph time measurement, simply repeat the same operation. It is at this point that the hundredth of a second is stopped and can be seen in the two windows at 6 o'clock. The chronograph is reset to zero by pressing the pusher at 4 o'clock. Chrono Classic has even more surprises in store for us: it is possible to return to reading the time with the chronograph still running with a click on the crown. Such a technical feat was made possible by the FM13D (Swiss Made) quartz movement manufactured by Soprod, a company with which Victorinox Swiss Army worked closely. This collaboration led to an exclusive development: the numerical representation of the hundredth of a second, thanks to two small rotating discs at the bottom of the dial. In addition, the guilloché decoration on both discs recalls the shape and decoration of the multi-purpose knife that all Swiss Army soldiers receive. A tribute to the origins and values of Victorinox that extends to other aesthetic elements. In fact, the axis of rotation of the disc corresponds to the closing movement of the knife blades, while the index and counterweight of the red central hand are borrowed from the typical shape of the famous multi-purpose knife.
