Montblanc: the ateliers in Le Locle and Villeret

On 21 and 22 May 2015, eight L'Orologio members visited the Montblanc ateliers in Le Locle and Villeret. The visit to the two manufactures allowed them to witness first-hand the production and assembly processes of the Swiss company's watches. The most enthusiastic comments from our guests were addressed to the expertise of the Le Locle factory, where conformity tests on prototypes and deliveries take place, as well as quality tests on finished watches. Also based in Le Locle is the research and development department, where the new models take shape, born of the collaboration between the designers, the marketing director, the creative director and Jérôme Lambert, the brand's CEO, who has the final say on each new watch. All but the most complicated Montblanc models are assembled in the Le Locle factory, made according to a traditional working method and produced entirely in Villeret, where the Minerva Research Institute for Fine Watchmaking is also located.
