One of the innovations in the field of accessories for winding automatic watches are the customisable modules produced by Scatola del Tempo, a leading Italian company on the international scene for the design and production of watch cases and rotators of various types. The essential structure of these modules is composed solely of the rotating system and each module is linked to an individual rotation programme (ten possible rotation programmes in all). Some are equipped with revolutionary supports that can accommodate cases of all shapes and sizes. Upholstered in leather or suede, they operate by means of the most common alkaline batteries, with direct current supply or using a 6-volt transformer. The advantage of these accessories is the considerable space-saving that can be achieved since they can be stored in a cupboard or safe; alternatively, they can be inserted directly into an existing structure, serving as an outer casing, thus constituting a fully-fledged watch rotor.
