Gérald Genta's Gefica Safari arrives in Italy

Arriva in Italia il Gefica Safari di Gérald Genta

Presented at the last Basel Show, the Gefica Safari from Gérald Genta. This model re-proposes, in a more contemporary version, the legendary watch made by the House in 1988 and inspired by the African safaris of three friends (Geoffry, Fissore and Canali), from whose initials the model's name was derived. The beautiful and original case combines bronze (the distinguishing feature of the 1980s version) and titanium: the overall colour scheme evokes the colours of Africa, while the pearl motif on the case middle and crown (also inherited from the original model) recalls tribal decorations. On the dial are the characteristic retrograde indications, displaying the minutes (at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock) and date (at 6 o'clock), and the jumping hours (at 12 o'clock), typical of the brand. The movement is the automatic calibre, GG 1004, with "potter" finish (a heat treatment that gives all parts of the movement the colour of antique gold), 22-carat gold oscillating weight and 45-hour power reserve. Price: 10,650 euros.
