Rado pays homage to nature

The Swiss company is again collaborating with Great Gardens of the World, creating three new and original True Thinlines.

A special trilogy again links Rado to Great Gardens of the World, a prestigious international network comprising prestigious national and international gardens, green space designers and landscape architects, ranging from China to America, Russia to Australia.

The watches pick up on the natural elements of three endangered plants, which give life to three decidedly unique dials: the Hawaiian Loulu Lelo, the Chilean Araucaria and the Yemenite Dragon Tree, respectively matched with the black, white and plasma grey shades of the 40 x 44.6 mm case) in hi-tech one-piece ceramic of the True Thinline.

For all three models, divided into three different chapters and numbered 8 (black model), 9 (white model) and 10 (plasma grey model), the movement used is the Rado R766 automatic calibre, with a 64-hour power reserve and Nivachron antimagnetic balance spring.

These watches feature a titanium case back with a sapphire crystal porthole with the digitally printed words 'Great Gardens of the World' and the name of the individual model. A motif resembling the typical growth rings of a tree trunk in cross-section is used as the background of the case back itself and is also reproduced on the box of the collector's set, as well as on the special edition certificate accompanying the watches.
