New pink dials for the Tetra from Nomos Glashütte

The Saxon company recently presented four new models from the Tetra collection, whose dials play with different shades of pink.

To coincide with the Salone del Mobile in Milan, which took place from 18 to 23 April, Nomos Glashütte presented four new versions of the Tetra, characterised by a 29.5-mm steel case on each side. These new variants feature a 'mature colour scheme centred on pink', as designer Thomas Höhnel put it. The latter, a colour specialist and interior designer, played skilfully with the tone, colour and contrast of the dials.

It is not unusual for interior designers to devote themselves to designing clocks. German designers Mark Braun and Werner Aisslinger, famous for their lamps, hotels and sofas, have in fact designed famous models produced by Nomos, such as the Metro and the Autobahn.

These four new Tetras created by Thomas Höhnel were named 'Die Kapriziöse' (the capricious), 'Die Unerreichbare' (the unattainable). "Die Wildentschlossene' (the firmly determined) and 'Die Fuchsteufelswilde' (the furious).

They are all powered by a hand-wound mechanical movement, Alpha calibre (10 ½'' diameter, 2.6 mm thick, 17 jewels, power reserve up to 43 hours) and combined with a grey velvet strap made of vegan suede.

In particular, the Tetra 'Die Kapriziöse' has a 'nude' pink dial, combined with a silver-plated small seconds dial, while the one christened 'Die Wildentschlossene' combines the same dial with a more intense pink background. The Tetra 'Die Unerreichbare', for its part, has a silver-toned dial with a sunburst motif, combined with a pink small seconds dial with a blue hand; finally, the Tetra 'Die Fuchsteufelswilde' has an aubergine-coloured dial, with small seconds on a rose gold-coloured background. The small seconds counter is always engraved with a concentric circle motif, except in the case of 'Die Unerreichbare'. The hands are baton-shaped and the hour markers are bar-markers and Arabic numerals.
