An Italian, luxury & watch designer Danilo Petta, is the winner of the IAA Muse Design Awards 2020 in the watch category, Platinum Winner with Jacob&Co's Astronomia Sky. This is a major international competition, established in New York in 2005, which aims to reward original and innovative ideas and designs from creatives of various disciplines from all over the world. Danilo Petta, former Senior Product Manager of several Omega De Ville lines and Chief Watch Designer at Purnell, has projects such as Jacob&Co.'s Astronomia Sky and Astronomia Solar to his credit. Moreover, as co-owner with Öznur Pinar ÇER, of the Italian-German Mask Architects Studio, he is the first watch designer to have been invited to the forthcoming Venice Architecture Biennale 2020 with a project inspired by the world of hands.
Jacob&Co.'s Astronomia Sky, with which Petta won the prize, is a synthesis of futuristic design and refined mechanics: an astronomical complication orchestrated by the manual JCAM11 calibre, crafted by Master Watchmaker Luca Soprana.
