Locman Decimo Canto

Decimo Canto is a 100% Made in Italy watch produced by Locman. It is a project born out of the collaboration between Marco Mantovani, President of the Elba Island-based company, and the collector and entrepreneur Sandro Fratini, creator of the L'O brand, which marks a new step for the Italian brand and its entry into a higher segment of the market.

The name of the collection was inspired by the tenth canto of Dante's Paradise and in particular a reference to the wheels and mechanisms that mark time. More precisely, the supreme poet describes the chimes of monastic alarm clocks, already in use around 1275. Hence the idea. These are a line that includes watches with 38 mm cases with stepped bezelswhich appears to be formed by three concentric rings. Apparently holding them together are four oversized tassel loopswhich embrace the case emphasising the uniqueness of the design and volumes.

Tenth Canto: gemstone dials.

"For us, the three steps of the bezel represent Dante's three cantiches," explains Locman's president, Marco Mantovani, "succeeding in realising, according to our taste, a watch that combines technology and tradition, with timeless beauty. Initially presented in polished titanium, Tenth Canto of Locman is now also offered with a 75 gold case0, which is combined with dials in various colours, made from semi-precious stones such as mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, malachite, tiger's eye, red jasper and turquoise.

For the creation of the most precious versions, with natural diamonds set on the dial and lugs, Locman turned to Crivelli, an Italian excellence in the art of goldsmithing. The crown with internal o-ring seal guarantees water resistance up to 5 atmospheres and is decorated with a stone recalling the material of the dial.
