Devon Works LLC is an advanced design laboratory based in Los Angeles, specialising in the creation of uniquely designed cars and motorbikes, which also produces the innovative Tread 1 watch range. The collection, presented at BaselWorld 2011, is followed by the Tread 1 Steampunk, a special edition based, like its predecessor, on a patented system of interconnected timing belts that compose the time on the dial and are powered by a hybrid electromechanical movement controlled by four microprocessors. It is recharged by a lithium battery, which can be recharged wirelessly. The case of the Steampunk measures 56 x 50 x 18.5 millimetres and the outer parts are covered with a bronze structure. The straps on the dial, made of glass-fibre reinforced nylon, are dark brown, while a creamy white shade has been chosen for the numerals.
