Doxa's Sub 300 is a diving watch classic. The company recently introduced a Beta version, with a redesigned steel case and ceramic bezel for dive times.

At the end of last year, the Biel-based company launched a version called Beta, with a steel coussin case still measuring 42.5 x 44.5 mm but redesigned to reduce its thickness, which now stands at 11.95 mm (against the 13.65 of the Sub 300T).

On it (patented by the company) is the dual display of the dive time in minutes (inner ring) and depth in feet (outer ring) to calculate the dive time without decompression stops. The crown, also made of black ceramic and bearing the famous Doxa logo fish, is screwed down. Also of note is the presence of the helium gas escape valve.

The dial (protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal) comes in five colour variations, namely black with orange, yellow or turquoise details, or with a navy blue or white background. It has a sunray finish and is decorated with a wave motif, on which the SuperLuminova luminescent hour and minute hands (the latter oversized) stand out. At 3 o'clock is the date window.

The Sub 300β, which is water-resistant to a pressure of 300 metres, is available with a steel bracelet with rice-grain links or with an FKM rubber strap. In both cases, the clasp is folding, with a safety button and an extension for wearing the watch over a wetsuit.

The watch is powered by the Sellita calibre SW200 (Swiss Made, 28,800 vibrations per hour), mechanical automatic, which guarantees a power reserve of 38 hours.
