Glashütte Original experiments with new colours

A change of clothes for the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar from Glashütte Original, a watch with a stainless-steel case in a limited edition of just 100 pieces that adds a modern and sophisticated combination to the classic black/white and grey/brown combinations: that of opaline pink, used for the dial, and the dark blue of the Louisiana alligator leather strap. The intense shade of blue is also echoed in the hand-applied hour markers, which in this case are exclusively Roman numerals, the elegant poire hands, the calendar windows and the finely stepped moon phase disc. All the calendar indications - day of the week, panoramic date, month and leap year - adapt to the various month durations and will not need to be reset until 2100. The sapphire crystal back allows one to admire the refined finishing of the automatic movement, calibre 36-12, its skeletonised rotor and double G. The balance spring, made of silicon, guarantees optimal precision, while the single barrel offers a power reserve of over 100 hours. These qualities are attested by a certificate confirming that each Senator Excellence has undergone 24 days of extensive testing in the Saxon manufacture; a special online portal then allows owners to access detailed test scores for their watch, including information on the procedures followed. Price: 21,000 euros. Also available in a version with a steel bracelet, at a cost of 22,300 euros.
