The Philip Watch Museum - The Origins of Excellence

On 5 October in Naples, in the evocative setting of Castel dell'Ovo, Philip Watch presented the Philip Watch Museum - The Origins of Excellence": an ambitious project that traces the brand's history through over 150 years of Swiss technology and Italian design. Some of the most important watches in the brand's history have been carefully "re-read" to reconstruct the creative and production processes from which the watches themselves were born. Models, drawings, images and catalogues have been collected over the years and now meticulously analysed with the dual aim of reconstructing the brand's historical heritage and, through this analysis, of providing a series of suggestions for learning how to "read" a watch, understanding its technical and design peculiarities. The presentation event to the press and public was attended by Massimo Carraro, CEO of the Morellato Group, and the entrepreneur Matteo Marzotto, one of the founders and Vice-President of the Fondazione per la Ricerca sulla Fibrosi Cistica Onlus. In fact, Philip Watch's important charity partnership in support of the Fondazione per la Ricerca sulla Fibrosi Cistica Onlus (Foundation for Research on Cystic Fibrosis) continues. Since 2010, it has made it possible to fund a number of specific research projects, such as the analysis of new strategies against lung inflammation, one of the main complications of the disease. Massimo Carraro said: "I am delighted to be here in Naples at Castel dell'Ovo, a historic and prestigious location, and to be able to present the Philip Watch Museum, a project that we have strongly supported since 2006 when the brand became part of the Morellato Group. We are proud to bring Philip Watch back to the city where the brand originated, to introduce the public to a story born of Neapolitan creativity and handed down from generation to generation. Once again, I would like to thank Matteo Marzotto for his presence. Philip Watch is always close to the activities of the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation, of which Matteo was a founder and tireless promoter". Philip Watch has been collaborating with the Fondazione per la Ricerca sulla Fibrosi Cistica (FFC Onlus) since 2010. As part of the partnership, Matteo Marzotto is the interpreter of the brand's advertising campaign, signed by photographer Giovanni Gastel. The collaboration was renewed last year and includes the funding of two new scientific projects and the laboratory activities of the National Cystic Fibrosis Research Service. The brand will also be alongside Matteo Marzotto and the Foundation with some specific initiatives that will take place in October, as part of the 11th National Cystic Fibrosis Research Campaign. The Philip Watch Caribbean 1000 watch (customised for the event) will be on the wrist of Matteo Marzotto who, with cyclists Davide Cassani, Max Lelli and Fabrizio Macchi, is preparing to get back on the bike for the second FFC Bike Tour: from 14 to 19 October they will cover, in six stages, 1,100 kilometres from Palermo to Rome. Among the many events to support fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis Research is also the Charity Cocktail to be held on Thursday 10 October at Illulian in Via Manzoni, 41 in Milan. On this occasion a Philip Watch watch from the new Seahorse collection and dedicated to the second FFC Bike Tour will also be auctioned.
