Omega and Emirates Team New Zealand
conquer the America's Cup

Omega is a partner of Emirates Team New Zealand, winner of the 36th America's Cup. The Kiwis defeated the Challenge of Record Luna Rossa in the best of seven races, winning 7 to 3, after a tough battle on the waters of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour. This is the fourth America's Cup won by Emirates Team New Zealand after successes in 1995, 2000 and 2017. The victory represents a significant milestone in the illustrious history of sailing for Omega. The Swiss brand has been a proud supporter of Emirates Team New Zealand since 1995, and was Official Timekeeper in this year's regatta in Auckland, reprising a key role it played twice before, in 2000 and 2003. A unique feature of the 36th edition was the design of the boats. The AC75 monohulls, which literally 'fly', have T-wing hydrofoils mounted to port and starboard, a double skinned mainsail and no keel. As the winner of this year's America's Cup, Emirates Team New Zealand will, of course, be the defender of the title when the great clash on the waves is repeated.
