Ressence - Type 3

TYPE3N-2With the Type 3, the Ressence brand expresses its personal interpretation of watchmaking: from the elimination of the hands, the disappearance of the crown, the near absence of the case middle, to the use of oil to optimise the legibility of the dial. This year, it is offered in a new version with a dark blue dial. This model takes advantage of the technological advances made with an invention patented by the brand and introduced in 2010 on the Zero Series, the Rocs - Ressence Orbital Convex System. The hands are replaced by discs that rotate continuously on a main dial, which itself makes one complete revolution in 60 minutes. Engraved numerals, numerals and indices filled with SuperLuminova create the illusion of a traditional dial, where information is mysteriously projected onto the surface of the glass. The entire upper part of the Type 3 contains the Rocs, immersed in 35.7 ml of oil, a liquid that is not refractory to light, equipped with a self-compensation system that varies over a range of -5 to +55 degrees Celsius. It consists of a series of 7 small bellows that retract when the oil expands under the influence of heat or expands when it contracts under cold conditions. This device is indirectly connected to the oil temperature gauge on the dial. The movement is an ETA 2824/2 automatic.
The case consists of two curved sapphire crystals connected by a very thin grade 5 titanium carrure (2 mm) to which the strap lugs are attached. This is a limited edition of 50 with a blue titanium dial. Price: approximately 38,400 euros.
