Swatch goes back in time

In 1984, Prince sang Purple Rain, Madonna Like a Virgin and the famous video game was also launched Tetris. Also in 1984, Swatch entered the Guinness Book of Records for the construction of a giant watch weighing 13 tonnes and standing 162 metres tall, which was placed on the building housing the Commerzbank headquarters in Frankfurt. Swatch pays tribute to that magical year with the launch of the 1984 Reloaded collection, for the creation of which the brand drew inspiration from its roots, combining a series of its original and best-loved models from 1984 and made of Bioceramic, a new milestone in the field of environmentally sustainable materials. The unique mix of ceramic and bio-based plastic derived from castor oil gives rise to this robust and lightweight material, which guarantees scratch resistance and a tactile 'silk effect' finish. These five new models thus offer reinterpretations of some of the very first Swatch watches, focusing on the light-heartedness and frivolity typical of the 1980s. The Bioceramic case, as well as the strap and loop made of bio-based materials, make the 1984 Reloaded collection a modern accessory. Finally, the white New Gent and the grey Gent are available in special packaging. The Swatch 1984 Reloaded collection is available in Swatch Stores and on the Swatch e-commerce channel.
